Ida Suryana

Early Childhood Teacher

My name is Ida. I was born and raised in Indonesia, where I earned a bachelor’s degree and an elementary teaching credential. I taught kindergarten there for five years before moving to the United States, where I began my career in Early Childhood Education more than 30 years ago!

Almost 20 years ago, I joined the diverse community of the University of Oregon. I regularly meet people from around the globe here on campus. I was hired at the Vivian Olum Child Development Center at the University of Oregon in 2006 as a toddler teacher. I currently serve as a floater for the Pathfinders and Adventurers classrooms!

I am a mother of two wonderful adult children and in my free time I like to garden, and enjoy cooking, hiking, and hanging out with my friends!
