What is your current position, and what are your job responsibilities?
I lead the Financial Services team in the Business Affairs Office. We cover Accounts Payable, Travel, General Accounting, Property Control, Reporting and Tax.
What has been your career path; how did you end up in your current position?
I graduated from the UO back in 2004. I began my career in Public Accounting in 2005, working for regional firms in Seattle and Eugene through 2009. I spent 12 of the 15 subsequent years working at Levi Strauss, starting in Internal Audit and moving to more focused roles with Inventory Accounting. UO is my first foray into Higher Ed work, but my time at Levi’s was at a shared service center that covered many of the activities that the Financial Services team covers here.
How has working at UO enabled your professional goals and interests?
Working for UO has allowed me to lead a team working in a variety of areas I have had past experience with. It has also allowed me to work with an organization that has a meaningful impact on the health and future of our local and broad community.
What do you like about your current position?
The people. It has been encouraging these past 15 months to work with such a solid team that cares about university and the work they do for it.
Much of my initial year plus a few months has been heavily involved with the new Duck Depot implementation. This project started in early 2025 and has been live since October. It has been great working with Purchasing and Contracting Services (PCS), as well as the departments and budget owners to get the system up and running.
