Controller and Associate Vice President
The Business Affairs Office (BAO) provides efficient and effective business services for University of Oregon (UO) students, faculty and staff; manages and secures UO material assets; and ensures UO business is conducted in accordance with all applicable regulations, policies, procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, and sound business practices.
The BAO consists of five divisions reporting to the Contoller/Associate Vice President for Business Affairs:
- Financial Services: General Accounting and Property Control; Cost Accounting, Financial Analysis, and Reporting; Accounts Payable; Travel; and Tax Accounting and Analysis
- Student Financial Services: Student Billing/Accounts Receivable; Student Loans and Collections; and Cashiers
- Payroll: Payroll Operations and Payroll Accounting
- Information Systems
- Treasury Operations
Budget and Resource Planning implements and manages the university's annual budgeting process, and ensures the development of budgeting policies and practices to align the university's resources with its mission and objectives. The office also provides financial monitoring, analysis and planning functions.
Institutional Research, which reports to the Senior Vice Provost for Budget and Planning, provides management information and analytical support to the University's decision makers, enhancing strategic planning and policy-making processes. The office serves as the chief information clearinghouse for the University and conducts research on student, faculty, and staff to promote on-going institutional evaluation and assessment. Institutional Research also fulfills the University's compliance reporting requirements at both the federal and state levels.
